Red Water

2012: Red Water is a suspense thriller about karma.
The year is 2012. An archeologist, WALTER SPENCER, late 50s, is working in the Appalachian woods at an old Cherokee settlement nicknamed "Red Water". But he's not alone.

Walter, we learn, had always been a big believer in the theory that ancient Cherokee astronomers predicted a comet would destroy our world in the year 2012. But when his daughter, Carrie hears of his theory and tries to find him, Carrie learns some unhappy news: Walter has disappeared.

After doing some investigation, Carrie finds that her father had made incredible discoveries at the Red Water settlement which confirmed his lifelong theories. He learned that not only had the Cherokee astronomers foretold the end of the world... they left behind precise instructions on how to stop it! These instructions were carved onto the Ulunsuti Stone, a lost Cherokee artifact (reportedly a large crystal) which can supposedly be used as a "window to the future." Walter was on the verge of finding it when he disappeared.

Carrie joins a motley crew of "researchers", lead by the handsome researcher, Austin Banks, to the Appalachian wilderness of Red Water to find Walter and hopefully, the Ulunsuti Stone. While Austin is charming and intelligent, something strikes Carrie as being odd with the other members of the group. They're a bit too mercenarial for this line of work.

In order to find her father, Carrie's going to have to retrace his steps and follow the clues to a "treasure" she's never truly believed in until now. It's an exciting trail of secret maps, decoded messages, and ancient ruins. The journey will turn her from a skeptic into a wide-eyed believer. Deciphering the ancient riddles on the stone, Carrie is startled to find that the native astronomers had indeed figured out a way to deflect the comet! Having predicted that, in the late 20th century, humans "would build a house and throw it in the sky", they also provided precise mathematical calculations on how that "house" (the International Space Station) could be used to produce a sufficient gravitational tug to change the path of the comet!

Armed only with the centuries-old carvings, she, Walter, and Austin must race to NASA and stop the comet before it's too late!
